Witches aligned with the coven of the Night Song embrace the mysterious and predatory forces that thrive in darkness, gaining dominion over the ferocious spirits that rule the night. Such witches are often feared or categorized as monstrous, but members of this coven are taught to embrace the cruel truths found in nature: to prevent yourself or those you protect from being hunted, you must become the hunter.

Night Blessing
3rd-Level Night Song Feature
Your commitment to the night enhances your physical body. You have advantage on Stealth checks you make while in areas of dim light or darkness, and you gain darkvision to a range of 60 feet. If you already have darkvision, its range instead increases by 30 feet.
In addition, when you finish a long rest, choose which of the following night blessings to accept. You can have only one active blessing at a time, and a blessing lasts until you finish a long rest.
- Night Children. Insects, vermin, and nocturnal creatures such as bats, rats, and wolves understand your speech, and you understand their noises and motions as if they were speaking. Friendly creatures of this type obey your commands and perform simple tasks you ask of them, as long as you don’t ask them to fight or otherwise endanger themselves.
- Night Crawler. You gain a climbing speed equal to your walking speed, and you can move up, down, and across vertical surfaces and upside down along ceilings, without needing to make an ability check. In addition, you can move through another creature’s space regardless of its size (though its space is still difficult terrain), and you can move through a space as narrow as one inch wide without squeezing, provided you end your movement in an unoccupied space that can accommodate your standard size.
- Night Creature. You assume the natural armor and weapons of a predator. While you aren’t wearing armor, your AC equals 10 + your DEX modifier + your WIS modifier. Your hands sprout claws that are natural weapons you can use to make unarmed strikes. When you hit with it, the strike deals slashing damage equal to 1d8 + your WIS modifier.
Rending Hex
3rd-Level Night Song Feature
You can infuse your hexes with power that weakens prey and invokes bloodlust in allies. When a creature marked by your Hex feature takes damage from a weapon attack, roll the Hex die. The attack deals additional damage of the weapon’s type equal to the number rolled + your WIS modifier. Rolling the die in this way doesn’t expend the die or remove it from the target.
Each time a creature with one of your Hex dice starts its turn with less than half its hit point maximum, you can force the target to make a CON save against your spell save DC (no action required, and you can’t use the Hex die to reduce this save). On a failure, creatures within 5 feet of the target have advantage on attack rolls against it until the start of the target’s next turn.
Draining Curse
7th-Level Night Song Feature
You can sacrifice a portion of your vitality to lay a curse upon your prey. As an action, or as part of the same bonus action used to activate your Hex feature, you can sacrifice one of your Hit Dice to curse one creature you can see within 60 feet of you. The curse remains active for 1 hour or until you or the target is reduced to 0 HP. Each time you deal damage to a cursed creature, you regain a number of hit points equal to the damage you dealt, up to your witch level.
You can use this feature a number of times equal to your PB, and you regain all expended uses when you finish a long rest.
Enhanced Blessing
11th-Level Night Song Feature
You can now switch which blessing you receive from your Night Blessing feature as part of a short or long rest.
In addition, each blessing grants an additional benefit, listed here.
- Night Children. As an action, you can force one Beast (or creature with the Animal tag) that you can see within 30 feet of you to make a WIS save against your spell save DC. On a failure, the target is magically charmed by you for 1 day, until you die, or until you choose to end the effect (no action required). The charmed target obeys any verbal commands you issue on your turn (no action required). If the target suffers harm or receives a suicidal command, it can repeat the save, ending the effect on itself on a success. You can use this feature to simultaneously maintain control over a number of creatures equal to half your PB (rounded down).
- Night Crawler. You are resistant to bludgeoning, piercing, and slashing damage.
- Night Creature. You gain a flying speed equal to your walking speed.
Apex Predator
15th-Level Night Song Feature
As an action, you can infuse yourself with the full power of the night for 1 minute. While empowered in this way, you gain the following benefits:
- You gain the benefits of a second blessing from your Night Blessing feature (including the benefit from your Enhanced Blessing feature) of your choice for the duration of your transformation.
- You have advantage on attack rolls against creatures marked by your Draining Curse feature.
- You regain 20 HP at the start of each of your turns if you have at least 1 HP and aren’t in sunlight.
Once you use this feature, you can’t use it again until you finish a long rest.
